Job summary

Service Care Solutions is recruiting an experienced Maintenance Operative to support a busy Repairs and Maintenance team in Nottingham. You will perform responsive repairs and general maintenance across occupied and void domestic properties, with a focus on Plumbing or Joinery.

Ideal candidates hold an NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing or Joinery, have a full UK driving licence, and possess basic tools. This is a full-time, temporary position with pay rates of £16.20–£19.36 per hour (PAYE/umbrella).

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Maintenance Operative, Multi Trader, Plumber or Joiner.
• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Plumbing or Joinery.
• Full UK driving license and own basic tools.

Responsibilities

• Carry out responsive repairs and maintenance across occupied and void domestic properties.
• Complete planned and reactive maintenance to a high professional standard.
• Undertake general maintenance alongside core trade of Plumbing or Joinery.
• Diagnose faults and identify cost-effective repair solutions.
• Install, repair and replace domestic fixtures and components.
• Carry out plumbing repairs including taps, toilets, sinks, pipework and fittings.
• Perform joinery repairs including doors, locks, skirting, kitchens and timber components.
• Ensure works are completed safely and report additional issues.

Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Operative to join a busy Repairs and Maintenance team covering the Nottingham areas . The successful candidate will work across both occupied and void domestic properties , carrying out responsive repairs and general maintenance duties. We are particularly interested in candidates with a core trade in Plumbing/Joinery or someone who possesses All-Round maintenance skills . This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Operative, Multi Trader, Plumber or Joiner with a background in social housing, local authority or domestic property maintenance .

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out responsive repairs and maintenance across occupied and void domestic properties.
• Completing planned and reactive maintenance works to a high professional standard.
• Undertaking general maintenance duties alongside your core trade of Plumbing or Joinery.
• Diagnosing faults and identifying appropriate and cost-effective repair solutions.
• Installing, repairing and replacing domestic fixtures, fittings and components.
• Undertaking plumbing repairs including taps, toilets, sinks, pipework and associated fittings.
• Completing joinery repairs including doors, locks, skirting, kitchens and other timber components.
• Ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with relevant standards.
• Providing a professional service when working within occupied properties.
• Completing relevant paperwork and reporting any additional repairs or issues identified.

Requirements

• Proven experience working as a Maintenance Operative, Multi Trader, Plumber or Joiner .
• A recognised NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Plumbing or Joinery .
• Experience carrying out responsive repairs within domestic properties.
• Previous experience within social housing, council or housing association environments is desirable.
• Full UK driving license.
• Own basic hand tools and PPE.
• Ability to work independently, manage a varied workload and complete repairs to a high standard.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
