Job summary

BRC Jobs is seeking an experienced Multi-Skilled Plumber to join a domestic maintenance team in Berkshire. The role involves delivering efficient repairs and carrying out a variety of carpentry and plumbing tasks across properties and communal areas.

The successful candidate will have NVQ2 or equivalent, a full driving licence, and be prepared for DBS checks. The role includes out-of-hours cover and adherence to health and safety regulations.

• Procure materials through partnering suppliers and maintain van stock.

Job description

Are you an experienced Plumber, seeking a new permanent job in the Berkshire area?
My client has an immediate opportunity for a Multi-Skilled plumber, to join their domestic maintenance team on a permanent basis.
The successful applicant will deliver an efficient, compliant, and consistently high standard of repairs service to customers, throughout the area.

Responsibilities:

• Complete a wide variety carpentry, plumbing and other trade tasks at multiskilled level and in accordance with the Skills Awards L2/3 NVQ Diploma in Maintenance Operations or equivalent.
• Tasks include plumbing, carpentry and masonry both internally and externally to properties and communal areas.
• Ensure that work is carried out to a professional standard, adhering to building regulations, codes of practice or best practice.
• Liaise with customers and other colleagues, as appropriate, to ensure all relevant individuals are aware of progress and action taken.
• Ensure at all times that all works comply with relevant health and safety legislation, policies and procedures in the performance of the duties of the post.
• Use and apply a ‘Schedule of Rates’ for job costing repairs and ensuring repair orders are varied to correct value.
• Be available to cover out of hours emergency call out in accordance with the rota.
• Competently use a smart phone and tablet device to accurately record progress and completion of jobs, timesheets, material use in accordance with systems, policies, and procedures.
• Procure job related materials through our main partnering suppliers in accordance with our policies.
• Maintain a comprehensive van stock of materials, completing works in the most cost-effective manner.
• Maintain the works vehicle in good condition, keep it clean and carry out regular vehicle safety checks reporting any defects to the Fleet Manager & support team.

Requirements:

• Competent to complete a wide variety carpentry, plumbing and other trade tasks at multiskilled level
• Demonstrable experience with a variety of carpentry and plumbing works across a variety of properties
• Minimum NVQ level 2, or time served experience in either carpentry, masonry and/or plumbing with proven competency in non-core trades.
• Full Driving licence (clean)
• This role is subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Successful applicants will be required to undergo a Basic DBS check which will be funded.
