Job summary

Biffa Polymers in Redcar is looking for a Multi Skilled Operator to join our manufacturing site. You will operate and monitor production equipment, contribute to achieving quality standards, and support continuous improvement across the site.

Role includes working a rotating shift pattern, with training provided for forklift operation where needed, and a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork to deliver high-quality recycled polymer products.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing environment experience is desirable but not essential.
• Positive attitude with willingness to learn new skills across multiple processes.
• Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to follow work instructions and SOPs.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills for production documentation and quality checks.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and monitor a variety of production machinery and plant equipment.
• Operate a forklift as part of duties (full training and certification provided where required).
• Carry out routine operational checks and identify equipment faults or process issues.
• Communicate problems, breakdowns, or production obstacles to your Shift Supervisor.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and ensure work areas remain clean, safe and organised.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve productivity, and maximise operational efficiency.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve excellence in health and safety, product quality, asset performance and employee engagement.
• Comply with all company policies, procedures and health and safety requirements.
• Be flexible to work across different production areas as business needs require.
