Job summary

Skillmatch Recruitment Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a major UK facilities management contractor for a Multiskilled Mechanical Engineer. The role focuses on delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across heating, ventilation and plumbing systems in commercial settings.

You will carry out PPM and reactive maintenance on HVAC equipment, boilers, pumps, valves and water systems, diagnosing faults and implementing fixes to minimise downtime while supporting site projects and asset

Qualifications

• Recognised mechanical engineering qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship or equivalent).
• Proven experience in a commercial, industrial or facilities management environment.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical plant, commercial plumbing and building services.
• Experience maintaining pumps, motors, valves, heating systems and associated mechanical infrastructure.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on mechanical building services plant and equipment.
• Maintain, service and repair HVAC systems, including AHUs, FCUs, ventilation and associated controls.
• Undertake maintenance and fault diagnosis on commercial heating systems, boilers, pumps, expansion vessels and pressurisation units.
• Carry out repairs and maintenance to domestic and commercial plumbing systems, including sanitaryware, pipework, valves and water distribution systems.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and implement effective corrective actions to minimise downtime and disruption while supporting site projects and asset replacement programmes.

We are looking for an Multiskilled Mechanical Engineer who wants to work in a diverse role where no two days are the same.

As the Multiskilled Mechanical Engineer, you will provide the delivery of both planned and reactive FM maintenance services.

The Multiskilled Mechanical Engineer, will be responsible for:

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on mechanical building services plant and equipment.
• Maintain, service and repair HVAC systems, including air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), ventilation systems, extract systems and associated controls.
• Undertake maintenance and fault diagnosis on commercial heating systems, boilers, pumps, expansion vessels, pressurisation units and associated equipment.
• Carry out repairs and maintenance to domestic and commercial plumbing systems, including sanitaryware, pipework, valves and water distribution systems.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and implement effective corrective actions to minimise downtime and disruption whilst supporting site projects, shutdown activities and asset replacement programmes as required.

To be successful for this Multiskilled Mechanical Engineer role you must have:

• Recognised mechanical engineering qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship or equivalent).
• Proven experience working in a commercial, industrial or facilities management environment.
