Job summary

Skillmatch Recruitment Ltd on behalf of a leading facilities management contractor in the UK is seeking a Multi Skilled Mechanical Engineer to deliver planned and reactive FM maintenance across building services. You will carry out PPM and reactive maintenance on HVAC systems, boilers, pumps and plumbing, diagnosing faults and minimising downtime. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Recognised mechanical engineering qualification.
• Experience in commercial/industrial FM environment.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and building services.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on mechanical building services.
• Carry out reactive maintenance on HVAC systems, AHUs, FCUs, and vent/extract systems.
• Maintain, service and repair boilers, pumps, valves and related equipment.
• Diagnose faults and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime.
• Support site projects and asset replacement programmes as required.

We are looking for an Multi Skilled Mechanical Engineer who wants to work in a diverse role where no two days are the same.

Due to an increase in upcoming projects, there is now a need for an Multi Skilled Mechanical Engineer to join this highly successful and forward-thinking organisation.

Role

As the Multi Skilled Mechanical Engineer, you will provide the delivery of both planned and reactive FM maintenance services.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on mechanical building services plant and equipment.
• Maintain, service and repair HVAC systems, including air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), ventilation systems, extract systems and associated controls.
• Undertake maintenance and fault diagnosis on commercial heating systems, boilers, pumps, expansion vessels, pressurisation units and associated equipment.
• Carry out repairs and maintenance to domestic and commercial plumbing systems, including sanitaryware, pipework, valves and water distribution systems.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and implement effective corrective actions to minimise downtime and disruption whilst supporting site projects, shutdown activities and asset replacement programmes as required.

Requirements

• Recognised mechanical engineering qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship or equivalent).
• Proven experience working in a commercial, industrial or facilities management environment.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical plant, commercial plumbing and building services.
• Experience maintaining pumps, motors, valves, heating systems and associated mechanical infrastructure.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
