Job summary

Precision People is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) for a large-scale FMCG site in South Wales. Based in Magor, you will work a 4 on/4 off days and nights pattern maintaining automated storage and retrieval equipment and owning breakdowns.

You will perform electrical and mechanical maintenance, fault-finding, and continuous improvements, recording activity in SAP/CMMS and collaborating with OEMs. The role offers £53,000 per annum with excellent benefits.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience in fast-paced manufacturing or automated environments.
• Comfortable with planned and reactive maintenance.
• Able to work independently and own breakdowns.
• 4 on/4 off days and nights shift pattern.
• PLC fault-finding knowledge is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Are you an electrically qualified Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer looking to join a highly automated, fast-paced engineering environment?

This is an opportunity to join the engineering team at a large-scale FMCG manufacturing site, working specifically within its Automated Storage & Retrieval System (ASRS).

You'll be responsible for both electrical and mechanical maintenance across a highly automated warehouse incorporating stacker cranes, conveyors, lift tables, rotation tables, drives, motors and sensors. With only one engineer assigned to each shift, you'll have real ownership of the equipment - diagnosing breakdowns, identifying root causes and implementing long-term improvements.

The Role of Electrical Engineer

• Planned and reactive electrical and mechanical maintenance.

Minimum Skills / Experience Required

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering - essential.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Good hands-on mechanical maintenance experience.
• Experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing, FMCG, production or automated environment.
• Comfortable carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance.
• Able to work independently and take ownership of breakdowns.
• Happy working a 4 on / 4 off days and nights shift pattern.
• PLC fault-finding knowledge would be advantageous but is not essential.

The Package for Electrical Engineer

• £53,000 per annum
• 4 on / 4 off: 2 x 12-hour days followed by 2 x 12-hour nights
• 28 days holiday, with the option to purchase 2 additional days
