Job summary

Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer required for a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing operation in Greater London. You will diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical and automation faults, and deliver planned and reactive maintenance to maximise equipment availability.

You will drive CI projects, support production with proactive problem solving and root cause analysis, and help improve OEE and downtime metrics. Rotating days and nights with opportunities for career progression.

Qualifications

• Time-served multi-skilled engineer or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Experience with automated production equipment.
• Willingness to rotate days/nights.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical and automation faults.

• Drive continuous improvement projects to boost reliability and efficiency.

Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer - Greater London

£62,401 | 42 hours per week | 4 on / 4 off (Days & Nights)

We're looking for a Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer to join a fast-paced, high-volume FMCG manufacturing operation where reliability, automation and continuous improvement are at the heart of everything we do.

If you're an engineer who enjoys fault finding, improving equipment performance and working on a varied production environment, this is an opportunity to join a well-invested site with a strong engineering culture.

What you'll be doing

Diagnosing and repairing electrical, mechanical and automation faults

Delivering planned and reactive maintenance to maximise equipment availability

Driving continuous improvement projects that improve reliability and efficiency

Supporting production through proactive problem-solving and root cause analysis

Working with site KPIs including OEE and downtime reduction

Maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and engineering excellence

Coaching operators and sharing technical knowledge across the team

What we're looking for

You'll be a time-served multi-skilled engineer or hold a recognised engineering qualification (such as C&G, NVQ or HNC or equivalent), with experience in a manufacturing environment.

You'll also bring:

Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills

Experience maintaining automated production equipment

A proactive approach to continuous improvement

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

A positive attitude and the flexibility to work a rotating days and nights shift pattern
