Job summary

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification (Electrical, Mechanical, Multi-Skilled, HNC, Apprenticeship, or equivalent).
• Experience in food manufacturing, fresh produce, FMCG, packaging, or a fast-paced production environment.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with preventative maintenance systems.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
• Proactive approach to continuous improvement and reliability engineering.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance across production and packaging equipment.
• Respond promptly to machinery breakdowns and production issues.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults.
• Work with production teams to maximise equipment performance and minimise downtime.
• Support continuous improvement projects focused on reliability and efficiency.
• Assist with machinery installations, upgrades, and modification work.
• Ensure all engineering activities comply with health & safety, food safety, and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and update CMMS as required.
• Liaise with contractors and external suppliers when necessary.
• Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.
