Job summary

Reed is seeking a skilled Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a busy FMCG manufacturing site in the UK. The role focuses on keeping plant and equipment running through preventative maintenance, reactive breakdown support, fault finding and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, carry out PPMs, and work with production teams to maximise reliability while maintaining safety. Overtime and development opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer in FMCG/manufacturing environments.
• Strong fault-finding skills across electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience with both preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Relevant engineering qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC/HND or similar).
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance across manufacturing machinery and site equipment.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, diagnosing and repairing faults.
• Minimise downtime and support achievement of production targets.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Work with production teams to maximise equipment reliability.
• Complete maintenance documentation and update CMMS records.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Ensure all maintenance work is carried out safely and per procedures.
• Assist with machinery installations, upgrades and project work as required.
