Job summary

Adecco is partnering with a Northumberland manufacturer to hire a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer. This is a hands-on role for someone early in their career who wants to grow within manufacturing.

You will perform maintenance on plant and production equipment, support TPM, design jigs, liaise with contractors, ensure safety standards, and contribute to SOPs. The role offers day shifts, 37.5 hours, on-site parking, and a structured training path.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Strong mechanical background with fault-finding skills.
• Experience with mechanical or pneumatic systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain plant and production equipment and contribute to TPM initiatives.
• Diagnose faults and implement long-term corrective actions.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Design and produce jigs and fixtures to improve production efficiency.
• Assist in sourcing spare parts, materials and equipment and liaise with contractors.
• Ensure machinery meets health and safety standards and support SOPs.
