Job summary

CV Technical is recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established food manufacturing business in Lancashire. The role is a hands-on night shift, keeping production machinery and equipment running reliably through the night.

You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, with responsibilities including PPM, fault finding, and electrical/mechanical troubleshooting on conveyors, pumps, motors and gearboxes, while maintaining health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing maintenance role with both planned and reactive maintenance.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding abilities are essential.
• Experience with PPMS/maintenance records and reporting.
• Previous experience in food/FMCG manufacturing is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production facilities.
• Respond to breakdowns and perform fault finding to minimise downtime.
• Maintain production machinery including conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, pneumatics, and other equipment.
• Diagnose faults quickly and improve machine reliability to reduce downtime.
• Support engineering improvement projects and maintain safety standards.

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer - Nights

Lancashire £53,300

CV Technical are working with a well-established food manufacturing business that is looking to add an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to its engineering team.

This is a hands-on maintenance role within a busy production environment, where you'll be responsible for keeping the site's machinery and equipment running reliably throughout the night shift.

The Role

Working as part of the engineering team, you will be responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance across the production facility.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
• Responding to breakdowns and carrying out fault finding
• Mechanical and electrical maintenance of production machinery
• Diagnosing faults quickly to minimise production downtime
• Working on conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, pneumatics and other production equipment
• Electrical fault finding, sensors, controls and basic PLC diagnostics
• Supporting engineering improvement projects
• Identifying recurring faults and improving machine reliability
• Completing maintenance records and reporting any issues
• Working closely with the production team to keep the plant running efficiently
• Maintaining a high standard of Health & Safety at all times

The Person

We're looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with previous experience within a manufacturing environment.

You'll ideally have:

• Previous maintenance experience within manufacturing
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding ability
• Experience with planned and reactive maintenance
• A recognised engineering qualification or apprenticeship
• Experience within food/FMCG manufacturing would be advantageous
• Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, motors and drives
• PLC fault-finding experience would be beneficial
• A proactive approach to breakdowns and preventative maintenance
• The ability to work independently during a night shift
