Job summary

Tina Lacey Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Multi Skilled Engineering Tutor for the Wythenshawe area. The role involves coaching, mentoring and delivering knowledge in classrooms and workshops to prepare apprentices for independent assessment.

You will support learners with Maths/English and embed skills in the workplace, while managing a caseload, tracking progress and liaising with employers to ensure KPI delivery and timely progression.

Qualifications

  • Relevant occupational sector experience and qualifications at level 3 or higher.
  • Functional Skills Level 2 in English, Maths, and ICT or willing to undertake.
  • Ability to deliver high quality, effective coaching that meets learner needs.
  • Ability to deliver engaging and interactive teaching in the workshop to meet learners' needs.
  • Excellent level of skills in written and oral and presentational areas, focusing on the audience.
  • Teaching qualification Cert Ed/CTTLS/DTTLS/EAT/PGCE or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfil teaching commitments which will consist of both classroom and workshop environment.
  • Manage and maintain a caseload of learners and carry out regular learner interventions.
  • Ensure evidence for learning, achievement, funding, and Ofsted is captured effectively and timely.
  • Meet 20% OJT requirements and record as per procedure.
  • Progress learners using learning targets and knowledge, skills and behaviours.
  • Plan the end point assessment process with learners and employers.
  • Deliver Maths and English (and ICT where applicable) to support learning progress.

Multi Skilled Engineering Tutor - Interviewing asap for an Oct/Nov star

£39709 - £43709 plus benefits including 35 hours per week (inc car allowance 35 days holidays (plus bank holidays) to start rising to 40 after year 1, support, CPD, induction, IT Kit, eye tests, Long serve rewards, plus 3 days Xmas shut down and 3 wellbeing days inc birthday off, Xmas Eve and 1 in academic Term 3) progression opportunities and much more

Based at the Wythenshawe skills centre, South Manchester

Are you an experienced Engineer Tutor with coaching, mentoring, tutoring experience ?

Have you assessed Level 3 apprentices on the Engineering Technician standard - Mechatronics pathway and Level 3 Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician (MOET) - Electrical and mechanical pathways ?

Your role as Engineering Tutor will be to support the apprentices to develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours that are required to be demonstrated within the apprenticeship. This will consist of coaching and mentoring sessions, knowledge delivery through teaching sessions that will be run at our classroom and workshops in Wythenshawe. You will be required to teach in both the classroom and the workshop environment, complete guidance, and mock end point assessments to ensure that apprenticeships are ready for the independent assessment at the end of their apprenticeship.

You will work closely with other Learning coach's to ensure that the skills and knowledge learnt in the classroom will be embedded in the workplace. You will take part in discussions with employers to build good relationships and be involved in updating all parties on the apprentice's journey through progress reviews. The role requires you to embed maths and English into your delivery to ensure that learners that do not have the required level of Functional skills or equivalent can pass the exams.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure evidence for learning, achievement, funding, and Ofsted is captured effectively and timely including:
  • 20% OJT requirements are fully met and recorded as per procedure
  • Learners achieve the highest grade in EPA they are capable of
  • Progress learners using onefile, setting targets for Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
  • Individualised learning programmes, agreed with employer and learner based on initial assessments and including Maths and English
  • Engage the learner's line manager, making clear their responsibilities and working collaboratively to provide support, guidance, and opportunities for learning
  • Plan the end point assessment process with learners and employers, ensuring preparation and practice is included in the learning plan
  • Inspire and motivate learners and identify any barriers and adapt to your learners' needs
  • Deliver Maths and English (and ICT where applicable), to support the learner's achievement and progress in these areas
  • Ensure marking and feedback to the learner is accurate and supports their development
  • Motivate and drive learners to achieve their qualifications on time.

We need you to have;

  • Relevant occupational sector experience and relevant qualifications (at a level 3 or higher than delivery)
  • Functional Skills Level 2 in English, Maths, and ICT or equivalent, or willing to undertake
  • Ability to deliver high quality, effective coaching that meets learner needs
  • Ability to deliver engaging and interactive teaching in the work shop to meet learners needs.
  • Excellent level of skills in written and oral and presentational areas, understanding the importance of focus on the audience to support learning
  • Ability to plan, paying attention to detail and a track record in developing and delivering robust, effective, prioritised plans which achieve KPIs and strategic aims
  • Proactively drive learner performance and engagement
  • To be customer focused, having the ability to present Total People in a positive manner, persuading and influencing where necessary Seeks continuous improvement - seeks to improve processes and implement and embed changes
  • Teaching qualification Cert ed/CTTLS/DTTLS/EAT/PGCE or equivalent
