Job summary

A1 Personnel is seeking an experienced Warehouse & Logistics Operations Manager to lead two busy freight forwarding warehouse facilities. You will own end-to-end operations across warehousing, logistics, and cargo handling, driving safety, efficiency, compliance and cost-effectiveness.

The role combines strategic KPI development with hands-on floor leadership, aligning transport, customs and warehouse teams to deliver continuous improvement and service continuity.

Qualifications

• Proven warehouse/logistics management experience in freight forwarding or similar industry.
• Multimodal freight knowledge (air, sea, road).
• Strong understanding of ETSF, bonded warehousing, customs and international freight documentation.
• Knowledge of IATA, CAA and HMRC requirements.
• Proven people leadership and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience with WMS, ERP or other operational systems.
• Data-driven performance management approach.
• Hands-on leadership style with calm under pressure.
• Valid FLT certification for equipment operation.
• Five-year employment history with no gaps for regulatory purposes.

Responsibilities

• Lead two sites as one operation with consistent SOPs and KPIs.
• Plan labour, equipment and capacity around changing volumes.
• Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety and discipline.
• Oversee cargo handling across air, sea and road freight.
• Coordinate transport, carriers and haulage providers.
• Manage movements between facilities, ports, airports and customers.
• Improve routing, utilisation and freight costs.
• Work with customs teams to support efficient clearances and documentation.
• Develop future operational leaders and coach teams.
