Job summary

Noble Recruiting is seeking a Warehouse Operations Manager in Basildon, Essex. The role coordinates two freight-forwarding warehouse sites, overseeing cargo handling, documentation, and cross-functional coordination with transport and customs. Core hours align with 06:00–20:00 shifts; a 09:00–17:30 schedule applies to the other unit.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in warehouse or logistics management within Freight forwarding.
• Knowledge of IATA, CAA, HMRC and other regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to use a WMS/ERP System.
• MUST HAVE 5 YEARS EMPLOYMENT WITH NO GAPS due to CAA Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead warehouse & logistics across two facilities ensuring consistent service levels, SOPs and compliance.
• Provide hands-on operational support and balance resources between the sites.
• Oversee receiving, breakdown, storage and dispatch of air, sea and road freight cargo.
• Ensure correct handling (general cargo, hazardous goods, temperature controlled).
• Maintain compliance with aviation security and industry specific regulations (IATA, HMRC, CAA).
• Monitor KPIs.
• Manage inbound & outbound transport planning including haulage scheduling, carrier relationships and last-mile delivery.
• Optimise freight costs.
• Oversea stock accuracy
• Lead and develop the warehouse & Logistics team.
• Manage staffing levels, shift patterns, training and performance reviews.

Warehouse Operations Manager

Basildon, Essex

Monday - Friday's

Core hours are 09.00 - 17.30, you will also be responsible for a secondary Unit on site, the core warehouse hours are 06.00 - 20.00 (2 shifts involved), Flexibility is needed to support and to cover absences where required.

Permanent Position

The Warehouse Operations Manager will oversee all operations performance across two freight forwarding warehouse facilities. Responsible for ensuring efficient cargo handling, compliant documentation and seamless co-ordination between warehouse, transport and customs functions.

Requiring a strategic and commercially minded leader with strong international freight process knowledge and able to work in a fast paced environment.
