Job summary

Heidelberg Materials UK is seeking a proactive Relief Plant Supervisor to support operations across multiple sites. You will manage day-to-day plant activities, ensuring safe, efficient concrete and mortar production and dispatch while coordinating with internal teams and external partners.

The role requires strong health and safety focus, the ability to operate batching and dispatch systems, and hands-on maintenance and stock control. Travel to sites is expected as cover is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing or heavy industry.
• Commitment to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Ability to work independently and own site operations.
• Good IT skills using production systems.
• Excellent communication and customer relationships.
• Problem-solving and proactive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day plant operations during site cover.
• Coordinate with the Customer Service Centre to meet requirements and delivery schedules.
• Operate computer-based batching and dispatch systems accurately and efficiently.
• Batch concrete and mortar in accordance with procedures and quality standards.
• Monitor production to ensure quality, output and customer satisfaction.
• Carry out routine plant inspections, maintenance and basic repairs.
• Ensure materials are available to meet production demands.
• Supervise contractors, hauliers, visitors and employees for site safety.
• Maintain housekeeping and environmental compliance and report issues.
• Review plant performance and identify efficiency improvements.
• Secure the site and assets at all times.
