Job summary

Major Recruitment Norwich is seeking a Plant Maintenance Engineer to cover Manchester and Liverpool, working on site across two cement sites. You will maintain a wide range of machinery, diagnose defects and perform repairs in a dusty environment while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a Level 3 Mechanical qualification and 3+ years of relevant experience, with knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Mechanical qualification (BTEC, City & Guilds or NVQ) required.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in mechanical and/or electrical vehicle field.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Full UK Driving Licence with clean record.
• Willingness to work on site in Manchester/Liverpool.

Responsibilities

• Undertake mechanical maintenance work and diagnose defects.
• Carry out planned preventive maintenance tasks.
• Plan maintenance work daily with the Assistant Manager.
• Document maintenance works with the Assistant Manager.
• Supervise contractors on site.
• Ensure safety regulations and practices are followed.
