Job summary

Swansea Bay University Health Board is inviting applications for a Phlebotomy position across Morriston, Singleton, Neath Port Talbot Hospitals and related centres. The role focuses on blood collection by venepuncture and requires ability to travel between sites and to cover weekend and evening rotas.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with diverse patient groups, maintain high standards of care, and work effectively within a team.

Qualifications

• Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
• Evidence of maintaining their personal development.
• Understanding of confidentiality, consent and safeguarding in care.
• Welsh language ability is desirable and Welsh/English speakers are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood samples by venepuncture from patients.
• Communicate effectively with staff and patients, being sensitive to patients' needs.
• Learn all Phlebotomy skills to enable accurate collection of samples.
• Prepare and maintain clinical areas.
• Work accurately and safely under pressure.
• Role involves visiting GP surgeries and hospitals; may require weekend, bank holiday, and evening work.
