Job summary

The Ellison Institute Of Technology (EIT) in Oxford seeks a skilled Repair and Maintenance Technician to perform general maintenance, repairs and preventative care across multiple sites. You’ll diagnose faults, complete tasks to high standards, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while coordinating with contractors.

Based in Oxfordshire, the role requires traveling between sites, five days a week onsite, and occasional out-of-hours cover.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in facilities maintenance or handyperson role.
• Ability to travel between sites across Oxfordshire and work five days per week onsite.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of general maintenance and repair duties across multiple sites (plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry).
• Diagnose and resolve facility-related issues promptly and effectively.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and building codes.
• Collaborate with other departments and external contractors to meet business requirements.
• Regularly stock and manage tools, materials and supplies for all jobs.
• Provide excellent customer service to staff and visitors and respond to maintenance requests.
• Maintain detailed records of completed work and maintenance schedules.
• Manage contractor engagement across all sites and review department SOPs and risk assessments.
• Attend to out-of-hours maintenance needs and participate in on-call rota as required.
