Job summary

Röhlig Logistics GmbH is seeking a Multimodal Import Operations Clerk in Solihull (Birmingham) to join a busy team. You will manage ocean and air imports, handle customs entries, and deliver outstanding service to stakeholders across the supply chain.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in start-to-finish import freight forwarding, strong IT skills (CargoWise1), and excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Hybrid working after training, with generous leave and pension benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in a start-to-finish ocean and air import freight forwarding role.
• Extensive knowledge of import procedures and compliance.
• GCSE Maths and English; good numerical and language skills.
• Strong communication and complaint-resolution abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver high-quality, on-time work.
• Conscientious, punctual and able to take direction from leaders.

Responsibilities

For our branch in Solihull (Birmingham), we are currently looking for an experienced and highly competent Multimodal Import Operations Clerk to join this busy and successful team, with expert knowledge in ocean and air import procedures and a solid freight forwarding work history.

What you will do:

• Effectively manage all procedures involved with ocean and air imports
• Customs entries – extensive experience and knowledge required
• Deliver excellent customer service to all stakeholders
• Generate leads and grow the existing client base

What you bring:

• Minimum 5 years experience in a start-to-finish ocean and air import freight forwarding role
• IT proficiecy, ideally CargoWise1 Certified Operator/Specialist
• Educated to a minimum GCSE standard including Maths and English
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of air and ocean import procedures
• Excellent communication and complaint resolution skills
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver high quality, on-time work
• Great work ethic, conscientious, punctual, able to follow direction from business leaders
