Job summary

Prime Appointments Recruitment Agency in Laindon, Essex is seeking an experienced Export & Cross Trade Operator to join their team on a full-time, on-site basis. You will manage export bookings and cross-trade shipments from start to finish, coordinating sea, air and road freight and handling export documentation.

The role requires at least 3 years in freight forwarding with knowledge of export procedures and customs, excellent communication, cost awareness, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years freight forwarding experience.
• Knowledge of export documentation and customs procedures.
• Experience with cross-trade operations.
• Experience with overseas agents, carriers and customers.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Commercial awareness, including rate negotiation and job costing.
• On-site role in Laindon, Essex.

Responsibilities

• Manage export bookings and cross-trade shipments from start to finish.
• Coordinate sea, air and road freight, including collections and deliveries.
• Prepare and manage export and customs documentation.
• Liaise with customers, overseas agents, carriers and suppliers.
• Monitor shipments and resolve operational issues.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and job costs using LBase.
• Negotiate competitive rates, manage invoicing and support profitability.
• Ensure compliance with export regulations and customs procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service and support business development.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain efficient operations.
