Job summary

Build Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Multi Trader for a temporary to permanent role in Benfleet. The position offers £22 per hour with a van and fuel card provided, and involves reactive maintenance across domestic properties for housing associations.

The ideal candidate will perform carpentry, basic plumbing, tiling, plastering, decorating, and other general trades while delivering excellent customer service in occupied homes. Overtime and progression opportunities may be available.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Multi Trader or related role in social housing and domestic properties.
• Proven ability to perform reactive maintenance and general repairs.
• Customer service focus while working in occupied properties.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out day-to-day reactive maintenance and general repairs within domestic properties
• Completing a variety of trade works including carpentry, basic plumbing, patch plastering, tiling, decorating, and general building maintenance
• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs to a high standard
• Providing excellent customer service while working in occupied properties
• Using a PDA to manage and complete jobs efficiently

We supply candidates from executive to operative level and are currently working with a Housing Association looking for a Multi Trader based in Benfleet.

Day-to-Day Duties

• Carrying out day-to-day reactive maintenance and general repairs within domestic properties
• Completing a variety of trade works including carpentry, basic plumbing, patch plastering, tiling, decorating, and general building maintenance
• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs to a high standard

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have experience as a Multi Trader, Multi-Skilled Operative, Maintenance Operative, or Multi-Trade Operative, with a background in reactive maintenance within social housing, housing associations, domestic properties, council housing, or MOD (Ministry of Defence) contracts. Experience working in occupied properties and delivering excellent customer service is highly desirable.
