Job summary

Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi Trader to join a responsive repairs team for one of their local authority clients in Rugby. We are specifically looking for a strong plumber as the primary trade, with good carpentry skills as a secondary trade alongside other practical maintenance abilities.

The successful candidate will work independently in occupied domestic properties, carrying out responsive repairs and aiming to complete as many jobs as possible on

Qualifications

• Strong domestic plumbing experience essential.
• Proven experience carrying out responsive repairs in domestic properties.
• Good practical carpentry skills as a secondary trade.
• Experience repairing bathrooms and kitchens.
• Confident diagnosing leaks and plumbing faults.
• Must have full valid UK driving licence and own basic hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Carry out responsive repairs and maintenance within occupied domestic properties.
• Undertake plumbing repairs with plumbing as the primary trade.
• Complete bathroom and kitchen plumbing repairs.
• Identify and repair leaks and water-related faults.
• Repair taps, toilets, basins and sanitary ware.
• Undertake carpentry repairs where required and general multi-trade maintenance.
• Work independently and manage a daily repair schedule, aiming for first-visit completion.

MULTI TRADER – PLUMBING & CARPENTRY

Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00
Pay: £16.60 per hour PAYE / £21.41 per hour
On-Call: Optional – £200 standby payment per week
Vehicle: Company van provided for work purposes only

We are specifically looking for a strong plumber as the primary trade , with good carpentry skills as a secondary trade alongside other practical maintenance abilities. The successful candidate will work independently in occupied domestic properties, carrying out responsive repairs and aiming to complete as many jobs as possible on the first visit without the need to bring in additional trades.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out responsive repairs and maintenance within occupied domestic properties.
• Undertake a wide range of domestic plumbing repairs , with plumbing being the primary trade.
• Complete bathroom and kitchen plumbing repairs.
• Identify and repair leaks and water-related faults.
• Repair and replace taps, toilets, basins and other sanitary ware.
• Carry out waste pipe and general drainage-related plumbing repairs.
• Diagnose faults and complete appropriate remedial plumbing works.
• Undertake associated carpentry repairs where required.
• Complete general multi-trade maintenance and minor repairs.
• Work independently and manage a daily schedule of repair jobs.
• Aim to complete repairs on the first visit wherever possible.
• Work professionally and respectfully within occupied properties.
• Maintain good communication with residents, colleagues and supervisors.
• Accurately record work completed and update relevant systems.
• Use basic IT systems to record and manage jobs, with training provided where required.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and to an appropriate standard.
• Participate in the optional on-call rota where required.

Requirements:

• Strong domestic plumbing experience – essential.
• Proven experience carrying out responsive repairs in domestic properties.
• Good practical carpentry skills as a secondary trade.
• Experience repairing bathrooms and kitchens.
• Confident diagnosing leaks, plumbing faults and general maintenance issues.
• Experience repairing or replacing taps, toilets, basins, sanitary ware and waste pipes.
• Good general multi-trade maintenance skills.
• Ability to work independently in occupied properties.
• Strong first-time-fix approach with the ability to complete a range of repairs without relying on additional trades.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Basic IT skills – training will be provided.
• Full valid UK Driving Licence – essential.
• Must be able to provide own basic hand tools.
• Power tools will be provided.
• Willingness to participate in the optional on-call rota.
