Midland Heart Ltd is recruiting skilled Multi‑Trade Operatives with a strong plastering background to maintain 35,000+ homes across the Midlands. You’ll work across occupied and empty properties, diagnosing repairs and delivering high‑quality plastering plus carpentry/plumbing tasks.
We offer a secure, permanent role with a competitive £39,200 salary, enhanced out‑of‑hours pay, a new bonus scheme, a company van, and extensive benefits including healthcare, pension, and generous annual leave.
Are you a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in getting the job done right first time?
Midland Heart has an exciting opportunity for experienced tradespeople to join our growing In‑House Maintenance Team.
We are looking for experienced Multi‑Trade Operatives with a strong plastering background to help maintain and improve over 35,000 homes across the Midlands. If you're looking for stable, permanent employment, excellent benefits, quality tools and equipment, and the opportunity to make a genuine difference to people's lives, we'd love to hear from you.
No two days are the same. You'll work across occupied and empty homes, carrying out a range of specialist repairs, solving problems and helping customers feel proud of where they live. Depending on the type and complexity of the work, you may spend several days at the same property completing more extensive repairs to a high standard. We trust our operatives to manage their workload, make decisions on site and take pride in delivering quality workmanship that's right first time.
We're also proud to have been named in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work list within the Big Organisations category.
As a Multi‑Trade Operative, you'll play an important role in ensuring our 35,000 homes are places that people love to live in.
Working across both occupied and empty properties, you'll use your plastering expertise alongside your wider multi‑trade skills to diagnose and complete a broad range of repairs and special projects, including aids and adaptations.
Depending on your wider skills, your work could include:
You’ll take ownership of the work you're completing, aiming to resolve repairs right first time wherever possible and delivering a high standard of workmanship for our tenants.
You’ll be an experienced tradesperson with plastering as your primary trade, complemented by practical skills in either carpentry or plumbing.
You’ll be confident diagnosing repairs and completing work to a high standard, while having a sound understanding of site safety and safe working practices.
As you’ll be working in people’s homes, how you work is just as important as the repair itself. You’ll communicate clearly with our tenants, treat their homes with respect, work safely and tidily, and leave them confident that the job has been completed properly.
You’ll need:
If you hold a relevant trade qualification, please make sure this is highlighted on your CV when applying.

We expect a lot from our people, but in return you’ll find a supportive and rewarding workplace where great people thrive.
If you’re a skilled Plasterer with additional carpentry or plumbing experience looking for a secure role with excellent benefits, modern equipment and the opportunity to make a real difference every day, we’d love to hear from you.
