Job summary

Plymouth Community Homes is seeking a skilled Carpenter to maintain and improve our residents' homes across the housing stock, bringing pride in workmanship and a proactive approach.

You will manage your own workload, carry out carpentry repairs, window/door work, kitchens and bathrooms, and collaborate to deliver high standards and excellent resident satisfaction. A UK driving licence is required and an out-of-hours rota offers additional earnings.

Qualifications

  • Recognised trade qualification, ideally NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
  • Strong carpentry experience, including repairs and maintenance.
  • Ability to plan and organise your own workload.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proactive, with strong problem-solving ability.
  • Full UK driving licence and ability to meet vehicle insurance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Carpentry repairs and maintenance across our housing stock
  • Repairs to UPVC windows and doors, lock replacements and forced entries
  • Kitchen and bathroom installations
  • Basic plumbing, tiling, decorating, plastering and masonry repairs
  • Diagnosing faults and delivering effective solutions
  • Responding to emergency repairs and helping keep homes safe
  • Participating in the out-of-hours rota, providing an opportunity to increase your earnings

About The Role

As a Carpenter within PCH, you'll play a vital role in maintaining and improving our residents' homes. Every day brings something different, giving you the opportunity to use your carpentry skills while developing and applying a wide range of trade disciplines.

Your Work Will Include
  • Carpentry repairs and maintenance across our housing stock
