Job summary

Howells Recruitment is seeking a Carpenter Multi Trader in East London within the Social Housing Reactive Maintenance sector. You’ll perform carpentry and basic plumbing tasks, handle multiple jobs daily, and provide excellent customer service to residents.

The role is permanent with a basic salary around £50,000 plus a company van and fuel card, reflecting a stable, long‑term opportunity with progression potential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Carpenter Multi in social housing or similar environment.
• Full, UK, Clean driving license, minimum of 3 points.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine property maintenance and multiple jobs per day.
• Complete carpentry work and basic plumbing, patch plastering & tiling.

We are working with a leading Repairs and Maintenance Contractor within the Social Housing sector to recruit a Carpenter to join their team in the East London area.

As an operative within the Social Housing sector, you will play a crucial role in the maintenance and improvement of properties, ensuring all work is completed to a high-quality and in compliance with H&S and relevant regulations. Your role will focus on carrying out routine property maintenance, completing multiple jobs per day, ensuring a best in class standard of customer service is provided to the residents and their homes in which you're working. You will predomintely be completing carpentry work however you will also be required to complete basic plumbing, patch plastering & tiling.

Qualifications/Experience Required:

• Proven experience as a Carpenter Multi in social housing or similar environment.
• City & Guilds / NVQ in Carpentry level 3 (desired)
• Knowledge of NHF Sors desirable
• Full, UK, Clean driving license, minimum of 3 Points
• Relevant trade qualifications in plumbing, CSCS card and Asbestos Awareness cert. (Desirable)
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance.
• Experience using a PDA, good IT skills with experience using job scheduling software
• Willingness to undertake a DBS check - with no unspent criminal convictions
