Job summary

Midland Heart is seeking a Multi-trade Operative to maintain homes by diagnosing and completing a broad range of repairs in both occupied and empty properties. You may specialise in carpentry, plumbing, plastering or decorating, and will undertake adaption projects as needed.

The role offers a basic salary of £37,764 per annum with a performance bonus up to £5,000 and additional out-of-hours payments. Benefits include healthcare, a pension, 25 days leave (30 with 5 years service), a van and fuel

Qualifications

• Experience in delivering repairs across a range of trades.
• Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs in occupied and empty properties.
• Comfort with a hands-on role involving multiple crafts.

Role

As a Multi-trade Operative, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our homes are places that people love to live in. Working in both occupied and empty properties, you will diagnose and complete a broad range of repairs and/or special projects such as aids and adaptions, which, depending on your specialisms, may include:

• Carpentry & joinery – Fitting doors, kitchens, floorboards.
• Plumbing – Fitting bathroom suites, changing taps, repairing toilets.
• Plastering – Whole walls, ceilings or rooms.
• Decorating – Painting walls, ceilings and woodwork.

Salary and Benefits

Basic Salary: £37,764 per annum.

Performance bonus up to £5,000 per annum.

Out of Hours Payments (average around £4,000 per annum).
