Job summary

Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is looking for a Multi-trade Carpenter to join the Lancaster West Neighbourhood Team. You'll carry out day-to-day repairs across housing stock, focusing on carpentry (doors, windows, locks) and secondary trades to achieve first-time fixes.

You’ll use a PDA to log work, work in residents' homes, uphold health and safety, and contribute to a high standard of maintenance. Excellent customer service and reliability are essential, with an out-of-hours rota.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Level 3 Carpentry qualification and have reactive maintenance experience.
• Secondary trade skills such as plumbing, tiling or plastering to support first-time fixes.
• Strong health and safety understanding and practical problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day repairs across housing stock, focusing on carpentry (doors, windows, locks).
• Use broader trade skills to support first-time fixes wherever possible.
• Operate a PDA to manage jobs, record work and ensure sign-off accuracy.
• Work directly in residents' homes, demonstrating professionalism and care.
• Maintain safe, tidy work areas and report safety or safeguarding concerns.
• Collaborate with trades teams to complete repairs quickly and to a high standard.
