Job summary

Dovetail and Slate is seeking a Lecturer in Brickwork/Multiskills to join the Construction team at a further education provider in the East Midlands. The role is permanent, 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, with a salary range of £21,500 to £39,500 per annum.

You will teach Brickwork across Levels 1–3 in workshop and classroom settings, bringing industry experience to help learners build their careers. The role focuses on practical sessions and developing employability skills alongside

Qualifications

About the Role

You’ll join the Construction team at a further education provider, teaching Brickwork across Levels 1 to 3 in both workshop and classroom settings. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with genuine industry experience who wants to share that knowledge with learners building their own careers in the trade.

You’ll help shape the next generation of bricklayers and ground operatives, bringing your practical background and passion for the subject into every session.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Teaching Brickwork to learners across Levels 1 to 3 in workshop and classroom environments.
  • Planning and delivering engaging, practical sessions that reflect current industry standards.
  • Supporting learners to develop both technical skills and the wider employability skills needed in the construction sector.
  • Assessing learner progress and providing constructive, developmental feedback.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
  • At least a Level 3 qualification in Brickwork
  • Varied experience working in the Construction Industry
  • A passion for the subject and a genuine desire to train the next generation of tradespeople
Desirable (but not essential):
  • A teacher training qualification
  • A relevant assessor award
  • A willingness to work towards either qualification if not already held
