Job summary

Quotient Sciences, at Arcinova, seeks a Multi-Skilled Technician to join the Maintenance Team responsible for site utilities, plant equipment and building infrastructure. The role includes planned preventive maintenance, corrective tasks and safe operation of the BMS.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: HNC (or equivalent) in engineering.
• Demonstrated multi-skilled capability in electrical and mechanical disciplines.
• Knowledge of building services and computer maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Previous similar role experience is advantageous; site-specific training provided if needed.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; self-motivated with integrity.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance according to the scheduled programme.
• Identify and perform corrective and reactive maintenance to keep plant/equipment at optimum.
• Operate the BMS control system to monitor performance.
• Carry out safe system shutdowns and isolations.
• Ensure work complies with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Work with health & safety considerations and supervise contractor personnel.
• Be flexible to work across the site to meet business needs.
• Carry out general maintenance on HVAC, piping services and electrical systems.
• Work on Steam Generation and Distribution Systems (training provided).
• Carry out portable appliance testing of electrical equipment.
• Participate in the out of hours callout rota.

The Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Multi-Skilled Technician to join our Maintenance Team who are responsible for maintaining site utilities, plant equipment, and building infrastructure.

The key tasks of the position are:

• Perform planned preventative maintenance in accordance with the scheduled programme
• Identify and perform any corrective and reactive maintenance, ensuring plant and equipment operates to its optimum
• Operate the BMS control system to assess and interrogate plant and equipment performance.
• Perform system shutdowns and isolations in accordance with a safe system of work
• Ensure work is conducted in compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, internal policies/procedures and client requirements where appropriate
• Work with due regard to health & safety of self & others
• Monitor and supervise contractor personnel
• Work flexibly across the site to meet business needs
• Carry out general maintenance on HVAC, piped services and electrical systems
• Work on Steam Generation and Distribution Systems. (Training provided where required)
• Portable appliance testing of electrical equipment
• Participate in the out of hours callout rota.

The Candidate

You will be educated to a minimum of HNC (or equivalent), in an engineering discipline, preferably possess true Multi-Skilled capabilities being competent in both electrical and mechanical disciplines. technician. Be able to demonstrate technical knowledge of building services and computer maintenance systems. Previous experience gained in a similar role would be advantageous, the Company will provide the relevant site specific training for candidates who do not possess all the necessary competencies. You should be able to demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills and must be self-motivated. A high level of personal integrity and commitment is essential, as is a flexible approach.
