Job summary

Carriera Limited is seeking a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to maintain mechanical, electrical, and building systems across a fast-expanding science campus in Oxford. The role operates Thursday to Monday, offering a hands-on position within a collaborative engineering environment.

You will perform preventative and reactive maintenance, diagnose faults, and support installations while coordinating with facilities teams and external contractors. An on-call rota is included.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Facilities Engineering (e.g. City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent).
• Strong working knowledge of both mechanical and electrical systems.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Highly organised, independent, and able to prioritise workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

About the Role

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on maintaining mechanical, electrical, and building systems across laboratory and office environments. Working schedule is Thursday to Monday.

Our client is a fast-growing, ambitious science and technology organisation, developing a world-class campus in Oxford to support breakthrough research and innovation. They're investing heavily into their ever-expanding research centre and are seeking a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to support the day-to-day operation of this complex research estate.

Key Responsibilities

You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of a complex research site, carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance while supporting wider facilities and engineering teams.
