Job summary

DS Smith Fordham site is seeking a Multi Skilled Shift Engineer to support preventative and reactive asset maintenance, ensuring safety and reliability of equipment to meet production demands.

You will diagnose faults, execute timely repairs, and support capital projects while complying with safety procedures and working closely with management to improve maintenance practices. The role operates on 12-hour shifts and requires a proactive, team-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified electrically biased maintenance technician, accredited to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or BTEC.
• Strong fault diagnostic and problem solving skills.
• Experience in autonomous maintenance practices within a factory environment.
• Experience in a fast-paced, multi-shift environment.
• Focus on Health and Safety in the workplace.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Fault find and resolve technical and process issues efficiently.
• Resolve breakdowns with minimal production impact.
• Complete maintenance activities on time as planned.
• Provide technical support for capital projects and improvements.
• Communicate with departments using escalation procedures.
• Follow company purchasing and stores procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
• Be a proactive team member and support skill development.
