Job summary

DS Smith is seeking a Multi Skilled Shift Engineer at the Fordham site to conduct preventative and reactive maintenance, ensure safety and reliability of production assets, and support capital projects. The role requires fault diagnosis, strong problem solving, and readiness to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The position involves 12-hour shifts (4 on/4 off, days and nights), with no bookable holidays due to shift patterns.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified electrically biased maintenance technician
• Demonstrates fault diagnostic ability and problem solving
• Experience in autonomous maintenance in a factory setting
• Focus on Health and Safety in the workplace
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and related tools

Responsibilities

• Fault find and resolve technical/process issues
• Complete maintenance activities on time as planned
• Provide technical support for capital projects and improvements
• Communicate across departments using escalation procedures
• Maintain stores procedures and comply with purchasing
• Keep a clean and safe work area and be a proactive team member
• Improve technical skills for self and team
