Job Description:

Role Overview: As a Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer at the Butterkist popcorn factory in Pontefract, you will provide comprehensive mechanical, electrical, and maintenance engineering services to support and improve production efficiencies.

Shift Pattern: 3-shift rotation (6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm / 10pm-6am - rotating weekly) + Weekend Call Out.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Repair and maintain production and auxiliary equipment, minimizing downtime
  • Create PPM schedules, maintain accurate maintenance records, and complete data entry promptly
  • Coordinate with contractors ensuring safety documentation and practices are adhered to
  • Assist production teams with engineering support and monitor visual management boards
  • Enhance team knowledge of equipment for quick problem identification and resolution
  • Follow food quality management system policies and retailer standards
  • Participate actively in health and safety, identifying hazards and ensuring compliance
Machinery/Equipment Used:

- Pick and Place robots

- Automated case packing machinery

- Industrial oil popping and frying machines

Minimum Qualifications:
  • City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in mechanical or electrical engineering
