Astute is partnered with a long-established, reputable company specializing in service, maintenance, and repair of waste handling and recycling equipment. Our client is seeking a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join their team, servicing customers across the North of England and Scotland.

The Service Engineer role offers a salary of up to �39,000 per annum, plus a company van, overtime opportunities, and performance bonuses.

Responsibilities and duties:

As the Multi-Skilled Field Service Engineer, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

1. Driving approximately 100 miles per day.
2. Servicing waste handling equipment, providing quotations, and attending breakdowns.
3. Delivering first-time fixes during breakdowns.
4. Occasional overnight work and out-of-hours availability.
5. Collaborating effectively with team members on-site, via phone, or video calls.
6. Working with compactors, balers, and other waste handling equipment.
7. Handling 3-phase electrics and maintaining a strong understanding of safety protocols.

Professional qualifications:

We are looking for candidates with:

• Hydraulics experience
• Experience with 3-phase electrics (familiarity with working on equipment)
• A background in maintenance
• Road experience
• Versatile skill sets; multi-skilled, competent engineers preferred
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and provide remote support to other engineers
• Knowledge of compactors and balers is advantageous but not essential

Personal skills:

The ideal Service Engineer will possess:

• Flexibility for overnight stays, early starts, and late finishes to meet client and business needs
• A valid UK driving licence
• Strong customer service skills
