Job summary

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled Multi Skilled Plumber to join its Estates team. The role covers maintenance, repair and installation of complex mechanical plant across Trust properties in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

You will work as part of a multi-skilled team, undertaking duties as a Plumber or Mechanical Engineer, delivering PPM, reactive repairs, permits to work, and system shutdowns while supporting both routine maintenance and major

Qualifications

• Experienced plumber with ability to oversee maintenance and repair of building services systems.
• Ability to carry out preventative maintenance and respond to reactive repairs.
• Ability to issue permits to work and coordinate system shutdowns.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across Trust properties.
• Respond to reactive repairs to ensure safe and efficient operation of building services.
• Act as Authorised Person in specialist areas (Water, Medical Gases, Mechanical Pressure Systems, HVAC or Decontamination) when required.
• Support maintenance programmes and major capital projects.
• Work as part of a multi-skilled Estates team to deliver high-quality workmanship.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Multi Skilled Plumber to join our Estates team at Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

In this varied and rewarding role, you will carry out and oversee the maintenance, repair and installation of complex mechanical plant and equipment across Trust properties throughout Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Working as part of a multi-skilled team, you will undertake the full range of duties associated with your core trade as a Plumber or Mechanical Engineer, while supporting a wide range of estates maintenance activities.

Key responsibilities include delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM), responding to reactive repairs, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of building services systems. You may also act as an Authorised Person (AP) in one of the following specialist areas: Water, Medical Gases, Mechanical Pressure Systems, HVAC, or Decontamination.

The role will involve issuing permits to work, coordinating and carrying out system shutdowns in a compliant and fully documented manner, and supporting both maintenance programmes and major capital projects.
