Job summary

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled Multi Skilled Plumber to join the Estates team. You will carry out maintenance, repair and installation of complex mechanical plant across Trust properties on the Hampshire and Isle of Wight estate.

You may act as an Authorised Person in specialist areas and will issue permits, coordinate shutdowns and support both routine maintenance and major capital projects while ensuring safe, reliable environments for patients

Qualifications

• Experience in plumbing or mechanical engineering within estates maintenance.
• Ability to carry out maintenance, repair and installation of mechanical plant and equipment.

• Respond to reactive repairs.
• Issue permits to work and coordinate system shutdowns in a compliant, documented manner.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Multi Skilled Plumber to join our Estates team at Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

In this varied and rewarding role, you will carry out and oversee the maintenance, repair and installation of complex mechanical plant and equipment across Trust properties throughout Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Working as part of a multi-skilled team, you will undertake the full range of duties associated with your core trade as a Plumber or Mechanical Engineer, while supporting a wide range of estates maintenance activities.

Key responsibilities include delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM), responding to reactive repairs, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of building services systems. You may also act as an Authorised Person (AP) in one of the following specialist areas: Water, Medical Gases, Mechanical Pressure Systems, HVAC, or Decontamination.

The role will involve issuing permits to work, coordinating and carrying out system shutdowns in a compliant and fully documented manner, and supporting both maintenance programmes and major capital projects.
