Job summary

Auto Skills UK is recruiting a Multiskilled Panel Beater / Panel Technician with MET experience for our Rochester, Kent site. This full-time, permanent role offers a basic salary in the £35k–£45k range, DOE, with Monday to Thursday 9:00am–5:30pm and Friday 9:00am–4:30pm.

You will repair body panels and carry out MET, mechanical, electrical and trim work across accident repair projects, ensuring accurate repairs and correctly refitted components.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or Level 3 Vehicle Body Repair qualification required.
• MET training or equivalent experience.
• Panel Beater / Panel Technician with MET skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality repairs.

Responsibilities

• Assessing vehicle damage and identifying required repairs.
• Repairing, reshaping and replacing damaged body panels.

THE ROLE

As a Multiskilled Panel Beater / Panel Technician with MET experience, you'll carry out vehicle body repairs alongside mechanical, electrical and trim work. You'll help restore damaged vehicles to the required standards, ensuring repairs are completed accurately and components are correctly refitted.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assessing vehicle damage and identifying the repairs required.
• Repairing, reshaping and replacing damaged body panels.
• Removing and refitting mechanical, electrical and trim components.
• Carrying out vehicle strip-down and reassembly work.
• Ensuring panel alignment, component fit and finish meet the required standards.
• Identifying damaged components and communicating additional repair requirements.
• Following appropriate repair procedures and health and safety requirements.

ABOUT YOU

• Recognised apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Body Repair (NVQ / IMI / SVQ / ATA) and relevant MET training or equivalent experience, with an ongoing commitment to continuous professional development.
• Previous experience as a Panel Beater / Panel Technician with additional Mechanical, Electrical and Trim skills.
• Confident repairing damaged panels and replacing body components.
• Experienced in removing and refitting mechanical, electrical and trim components.
• Able to use body repair tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality repairs.
• Reliable, organised and able to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
