Job summary

Plymouth Community Homes is seeking an experienced Multi-Skilled Painter to join our growing team. You will carry out painting and decorating in customers' homes, primarily supporting our Damp & Disrepair programme, and take on related multi-skilled tasks to ensure repairs are completed to a high standard.

You will work across occupied properties, delivering excellent customer service while helping us maintain safe, comfortable and well-presented homes for residents.

Qualifications

  • Strong painting and decorating experience, ideally within social housing, maintenance or repairs.
  • Ability to carry out minor plastering and basic carpentry and plumbing repairs.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Motivated, reliable and committed to getting the job done right first time.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and decorating areas affected by damp and mould.
  • Carrying out painting and decorating work to a high professional standard.
  • Completing minor plastering and ceiling repairs.
  • Fitting coving and undertaking basic carpentry and plumbing tasks.
  • Repairing rainwater goods where required.
  • Diagnosing issues and carrying out repairs during a single visit wherever possible.
  • Applying a variety of paints, primers, undercoats, varnishes, stains and specialist finishes.
  • Building positive relationships with customers, keeping appointments and delivering a first-class service.

About the role

As a Multi-Skilled Painter, you'll be responsible for carrying out painting and decorating works within customers' homes, primarily supporting our Damp & Disrepair programme.
