Job summary

VolkerLaser is seeking a Multi-Skilled Operative to join the team in the South East, covering sites in Southampton, Guildford and Basingstoke. You will support the operations team, undertaking a broad range of construction tasks across disciplines under site management, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to specification.

The role requires experience on construction sites, CSCS and a full UK driving licence, with people who can communicate well with teams and clients.

Qualifications

• CSCS card is required.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Relevant job-specific tickets or certifications are desirable.
• Experience on construction sites is preferred.
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out construction and civil tasks across disciplines.
• Operate tools, plant and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Follow method statements, risk assessments and company procedures.
• Maintain housekeeping and safe on-site practices.
• Identify hazards and report unsafe conditions.
• Engage in toolbox talks and training activities.
• Represent VolkerLaser professionally with clients and subcontractors.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external contacts.

Job description

We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Operative to join the VolkerLaser team in the South East, covering sites in Southampton, Guildford and Basingstoke. The successful candidate will be a key member of the VolkerLaser operations team, capable of undertaking a broad range of tasks across multiple disciplines. Working under the direction of site management, the Multi-Skilled Operative ensures works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality and specification.,

• Carry out a variety of construction and civil engineering tasks as required, across a range of disciplines.
• Operate tools, plant and equipment safely and competently in line with training, instruction and authorisation.
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with company procedures, method statements and risk assessments.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping on site, including the care and maintenance of tools, plant and work areas.
• Identify and report hazards, near misses, defects or unsafe working conditions.
• Comply with all health, safety, wellbeing and environmental policies and procedures at all times, with responsibility for your own and others safety in your daily activity.
• Participate and actively engage in all site briefings, toolbox talks, and training activities.
• Represent VolkerLaser professionally whilst working with clients, sub-contractors, stakeholders and members of the public.
• Interface - To communicate with internal teams and external contacts effectively and collaborate to ensure alignment and support the successful execution of projects and initiatives.
• Previous experience working on construction sites
• Previous experience in concrete repair/strengthening, cathodic protection or civils would be advantageous
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements
• CSCS card

• Full UK valid driving licence
