Job summary

VolkerLaser, part of VolkerWessels UK, is seeking a General Operative to join the team in Scotland (Perth and surrounding areas). You will perform a range of construction and civil duties under site management, ensuring safe, efficient delivery to required specifications.

Ideal candidates will have construction site experience, CSCS card, UK driving licence and relevant tickets. The role offers on-site work with a competitive benefits package and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working on construction sites.
• Experience in concrete repair/strengthening, cathodic protection or civils would be advantageous.
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
• CSCS card is required.
• Relevant job-specific tickets are preferred.
• Full UK valid driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a variety of construction and civil engineering tasks as required.
• Operate tools, plant and equipment safely and competently in line with training, instruction and authorisation.
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with company procedures, method statements and risk assessments.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping on site, including the care and maintenance of tools, plant and work areas.
• Identify and report hazards, near misses, defects or unsafe working conditions.
• Comply with all health, safety, wellbeing and environmental policies and procedures at all times, with responsibility for your own and others safety in your daily activity.
• Participate and actively engage in all site briefings, toolbox talks, and training activities.

About the role

We are seeking a General Operative to join the VolkerLaser team in Scotland. As a vital member of the operations team, the successful candidate will carry out a range of tasks within their discipline, working under site management direction to deliver work safely, efficiently, and to the required quality and specification.

Location: Perth and other locations around Scotland
