Job summary

VolkerLaser, part of VolkerWessels UK, is seeking a General Operative for Glasgow and Scotland locations. You will perform varied civil engineering tasks under site management, ensuring safety, quality and efficiency on site.

Key requirements include construction site experience, CSCS card and a full UK driving licence. A competitive benefits package is offered and opportunities for training and development within a multidisciplinary group.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a variety of construction and civil engineering tasks as required.
• Operate tools, plant and equipment safely and competently in line with training, instruction and authorisation.
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with company procedures, method statements and risk assessments.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping on site, including the care and maintenance of tools, plant and work areas.
• Identify and report hazards, near misses, defects or unsafe working conditions.
• Comply with all health, safety, wellbeing and environmental policies and procedures at all times, with responsibility for your own and others safety in your daily activity.
• Participate and actively engage in all site briefings, toolbox talks, and training activities.

About The Role

We are seeking a General Operative to join the VolkerLaser team in Scotland. As a vital member of the operations team, the successful candidate will carry out a range of tasks within their discipline, working under site management direction to deliver work safely, efficiently, and to the required quality and specification.

Location: Glasgow and other locations around Scotland

Responsibilities

• Carry out a variety of construction and civil engineering tasks as required.

About You

• Previous experience working on construction sites
• Previous experience in concrete repair/strengthening, cathodic protection or civils would be advantageous
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements
• CSCS card
• Relevant job specific tickets
• Full UK valid driving licence
