Job summary

VolkerLaser in Scotland is seeking a General Operative to join the team in Perth and other locations around Scotland. You will carry out a range of construction and civil engineering tasks under site management direction to deliver work safely, efficiently and to the required quality and specification.

Applicants should have prior construction site experience, a CSCS card and a full UK driving licence. Experience in concrete repair/strengthening or civils is advantageous.

About The Role

We are seeking a General Operative to join the VolkerLaser team in Scotland. As a vital member of the operations team, the successful candidate will carry out a range of tasks within their discipline, working under site management direction to deliver work safely, efficiently, and to the required quality and specification.

Location: Perth and other locations around Scotland

Responsibilities

• Carry out a variety of construction and civil engineering tasks as required.
• Operate tools, plant and equipment safely and competently in line with training, instruction and authorisation.
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with company procedures, method statements and risk assessments.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping on site, including the care and maintenance of tools, plant and work areas.
• Identify and report hazards, near misses, defects or unsafe working conditions.
• Comply with all health, safety, wellbeing and environmental policies and procedures at all times, with responsibility for your own and others safety in your daily activity.
• Participate and actively engage in all site briefings, toolbox talks, and training activities.

About You

• Previous experience working on construction sites
• Previous experience in concrete repair/strengthening, cathodic protection or civils would be advantageous
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements
• CSCS card
• Relevant job specific tickets
• Full UK valid driving licence
