Position Overview

We are seeking a Multi Skilled Operative to join our team at Tarmac Cloddach Sand & Gravel Quarry, Elgin, near Inverness. The role primarily involves operating loaders and static plant equipment. The site is accessible from Elgin, Forres, Kinloss, Lossiemouth, and nearby areas.

Main Responsibilities

1. Report to the Section Manager and contribute to the production of dry aggregate materials for construction.
2. Ensure health, safety, environmental, and quality standards are met.
3. Operate machinery such as dumpers, loading shovels, forklifts, and perform blocking operations.
4. Perform daily maintenance and housekeeping of static plant equipment.
5. Train and operate static plant to optimize plant performance.
6. Collaborate with team members to ensure quality and timely deliveries.
7. Maintain a safety-first culture, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
8. Additional duties as required, with training provided.

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates will have experience in aggregates, industrial, or factory environments, with good communication skills and a desire to develop operational and supervisory skills. Specific requirements include:

• Knowledge of industry standards and plant operations.
• Experience as a loader or static plant operator preferred.
• Flexibility and teamwork skills.
• Self-motivation and leadership qualities.
• Understanding of risk assessments and permit systems (preferred).
• Compliance with company policies and standards.
• Excellent timekeeping and flexible approach.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• IT literacy; shovel licence preferred.
