Job summary

Exact Sourcing Limited in Newmarket, United Kingdom, is seeking a reliable Multi Skilled Operative to support day-to-day manufacturing on the afternoon shift (2:00pm–10:00pm). You will help Team Leaders with production, ensure lines are set up correctly and changeovers are completed efficiently, while maintaining food safety standards.

You will also step in as deputy Team Leader when required. Experience in food manufacturing is preferred; full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Support Team Leaders and Senior Team Leaders in the smooth running of production lines.
• Assist with line set-ups, changeovers and production start-ups.
• Carry out hygiene cleaning and maintain high housekeeping standards.
• Mix flavour and marinade batches according to customer specifications and feed rates.
• Complete production checks, paperwork and system updates using SAP and Redzone.
• Carry out metal detection, CCP checks and other quality checks.
• Ensure products meet food safety, quality and customer requirements.
• Maintain accurate product traceability throughout production.
• Support and guide colleagues, deputise for the Team Leader when required.

Job description

We are seeking a reliable, proactive and hardworking Multi Skilled Operative to support the effective day‑to‑day running of our manufacturing operation on the afternoon shift (2:00pm–10:00pm). The role will involve supporting Team Leaders and Senior Team Leaders with production activities, ensuring lines are set up correctly, changeovers are completed efficiently and all products are manufactured to the required quality, food safety and customer standards. The successful candidate will also be expected to step up and cover the Team Leader role when required.

As the Multi Skilled Operative, you will be:

• Supporting Team Leaders and Senior Team Leaders in the smooth running of production lines.
• Assisting with line set‑ups, changeovers and production start‑ups.
• Carrying out hygiene cleaning and ensuring high housekeeping standards are maintained.
• Mixing flavour and marinade batches in line with customer specifications and required feed rates.
• Completing production checks, paperwork and system updates using SAP and Redzone.
• Carrying out metal detection, CCP checks and other required quality checks.
• Ensuring products are manufactured in line with food safety, quality and customer requirements.
• Maintaining accurate product traceability throughout the production process.
• Supporting and guiding colleagues, deputising for the Team Leader when required.

As the Multi Skilled Operative, you will have:

• Responsibility for ensuring production processes are completed safely and to the required standards.
• A good understanding of food safety, hygiene, quality and Health & Safety requirements.
• Knowledge of production specifications, allergen controls and critical control points.
• The ability to identify and report issues affecting production, quality or food safety.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A flexible and proactive approach to changing production requirements.
• A commitment to maintaining high standards and supporting continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will have experience in food manufacturing, although full training and development will be provided where required. Previous experience of industrial hygiene cleaning, production line operations and food safety procedures would be advantageous. We are looking for someone who is dependable, enthusiastic and willing to take on additional responsibility, with the ambition and ability to support the wider production team.
