Job summary

Mears in Caerphilly is seeking a Multi Skilled Operative to deliver responsive repairs and maintenance in occupied social housing. You will work across trades to ensure high-quality, safe repairs and outstanding customer service within residents' homes.

The role covers day-to-day repairs, skirting boards, doors, plumbing leaks, tiling, painting, and keeping tools and vehicle in good order. A full UK driving licence and the ability to work independently or with a team are essential.

• Proven experience in multiple trades including plumbing and carpentry
• Experience carrying out domestic property repairs

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day responsive repairs within occupied social housing properties
• Repair and replace skirting boards, architraves and internal door frames
• Install and adjust kitchen units, worktops and cupboard doors
• Repair and replace internal doors, handles, locks and hinges
• Identify and resolve minor plumbing issues including leaks, dripping taps and blocked sinks
• Carry out patch plastering and repairs to damaged walls and ceilings
• Complete wall and floor tiling repairs including grouting and sealing
• Undertake painting and decorating following repair works
• Accurately record job details, materials used and completion information
• Maintain tools, equipment and company vehicle to a high standard
• Deliver excellent customer service while working in residents' homes
• Report any additional repair requirements, safeguarding concerns or property issues identified during works
• Participate in the out-of-hours emergency repair rota as required

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Salary: £34,273.72 per annum + company van and fuel card, with additional opportunities for overtime. There is also an optional out-of-hours call rota, providing the chance to further enhance your overall earnings.

We are looking for a Multi Skilled Operative to join our team in Caerphilly, delivering high-quality responsive repairs and maintenance services within occupied social housing properties. Working across a variety of repair and maintenance tasks, you will be responsible for carrying out repairs safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You will work independently and as part of a wider team, providing excellent customer service while ensuring work is completed in line with service expectations.

About the Role:
