Job summary

Biffa in Bradford is hiring a Multi Skilled Operative to support site operations. You will operate Fork Lift Trucks, assist with loading/unloading, bale handling, and daily maintenance of mobile plant and fixed process equipment.

The role includes housekeeping, record-keeping, and following health and safety guidelines on site. Shifts are rotating 06:00-03:30 or 08:00-17:30 on weekdays with occasional Saturdays, reporting to the Supervisor and Ops Manager.

Qualifications

• Operation of Fork Lift Trucks required.
• Ability to operate lifting equipment safely on site.
• Basic record-keeping and housekeeping duties.

Responsibilities

• Operate Fork Lift Trucks to unload/load vehicles and move materials.
• Open and break down bales with recyclable materials.
• Carry out daily maintenance and record-keeping for mobile plant and equipment.
• Perform housekeeping in all areas of the site.
• Support basic maintenance and cleaning on fixed process plant under supervision.
• Carry out daily site operations as directed by management.
• Conduct regular inspections of site infrastructure.
• Control vehicle and pedestrian traffic in internal areas.

Multi Skilled Operative - Bradford

£13.41 per hour

Working the following Monday to Friday rotating shift pattern with occasional Saturday shifts to meet business needs:

• Week 1: 06:00 AM - 03:30 PM
• Week 2: 08:00 AM - 05:30 PM

A quick look at the role

Reporting directly to the Supervisor will be responsible for the operation of mobile plant, housekeeping activities, basic maintenance and cleaning of fixed process plant, associated record keeping, in compliance with site licences/PPC Permits and health and safety legislation.

Your Core Responsibilities

• Operation of Fork Lift Trucks to unload and load vehicles, stockpile materials, feed the process plant, store finished products, load outgoing vehicles; carry out housekeeping and maintenance activities and any other tasks required
• Opening and breaking down bales with recyclable materials
• Carry out daily maintenance and record keeping for mobile plant and plant equipment
• Carry out housekeeping activities in all areas of the site
• Carry out basic maintenance and cleaning on fixed process plant under the direction of Supervisor and Ops Manager
• Carry out daily operations on site as directed by site management
• Carry our regular inspections of site infrastructure
• Control vehicle and pedestrian traffic in all internal areas
