Job summary

Multi Skilled Operative - Bradford at Biffa Waste Services is a hands-on role joining a rotating shift pattern with occasional Saturday work. You will operate mobile plant, manage plant housekeeping, perform basic maintenance and keep accurate site records in line with licences, PPC permits and health and safety rules.

Reporting to the Supervisor, you will run forklift operations, unload/load vehicles, break down bales and carry out daily maintenance and inspections while supporting site

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate Fork Lift Trucks.
• Ability to carry out daily site tasks and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate Fork Lift Trucks to unload/load vehicles and move materials.
• Open and breakdown bales with recyclable materials.
• Carry out daily maintenance and record keeping for mobile plant.
• Maintain housekeeping in all areas of the site.
• Perform basic maintenance and cleaning on fixed process plant under supervision.

Multi Skilled Operative - Bradford

£13.41 per hour

Working the following Monday to Friday rotating shift pattern with occasional Saturday shifts to meet business needs:

• Week 1: 06:00 AM – 03:30 PM
• Week 2: 08:00 AM – 05:30 PM

A quick look at the role

Reporting directly to the Supervisor will be responsible for the operation of mobile plant, housekeeping activities, basic maintenance and cleaning of fixed process plant, associated record keeping, in compliance with site licences/PPC Permits and health and safety legislation.

Your core responsibilities

• Operation of Fork Lift Trucks to unload and load vehicles, stockpile materials, feed the process plant, store finished products, load outgoing vehicles; carry out housekeeping and maintenance activities and any other tasks required
• Opening and breaking down bales with recyclable materials
• Carry out daily maintenance and record keeping for mobile plant and plant equipment.
• Carry out housekeeping activities in all areas of the site.
• Carry out basic maintenance and cleaning on fixed process plant under the direction of Supervisor and Ops Manager.
• Carry out daily operations on site as directed by site management.
• Carry our regular inspections of site infrastructure.
• Control vehicle and pedestrian traffic in all internal areas.
