Job summary

FCC Environment is hiring a Multi Skilled Operative at Winterton Landfill. The role involves operating mobile plant, supporting weighbridge activities and assisting site users while ensuring safe, efficient site operations.

The position is full-time, five days a week, with an hourly rate of £14.96 and a range of employee benefits. You will be expected to follow FCC Health and Safety procedures, maintain records, and support colleagues across site duties.

Qualifications

• GCSE English or equivalent required.
• Experience in a customer-facing role is essential.
• Ability to use IT systems such as Microsoft Office and Excel.
• A commitment to health and safety in a hands-on environment.
• Self-motivated, able to work alone and stay motivated.
• Punctual, reliable and able to meet personal objectives.

Responsibilities

• Operate mobile plant safely in line with procedures.
• Support weighbridge activities and site operations.
• Assist site users and visitors, directing vehicles and enforcing PPE.
• Maintain accurate records and complete tasks with care.
• Carry out maintenance and repair work across landfill sites when needed.
• Undertake any other reasonable tasks requested by the company.

Multi Skilled Operative

Hourly Rate - £14.96 per hour plus benefits

Location & Postcode - Winterton Landfill, DN15 9AP

As a Multi Skilled Operative at FCC Environment, you will provide a helpful, courteous and professional service to FCC customers, while supporting the safe and efficient running of site operations.

You will be expected to carry out a variety of operational duties, including operating mobile plant when required, supporting weighbridge activities, assisting site users and customers, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with FCC procedures.

This vacancy is for a full-time position, working five days per week.

What will you be doing?

• Ensuring all site users follow FCC Health and Safety procedures
• Operating mobile plant safely and in line with instructions, procedures and codes of practice
• Supporting the safe and efficient acceptance of asbestos and other hazardous waste
• Providing weighbridge cover when required, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner
• Assisting customers and site users, including directing vehicles and reminding customers to wear PPE
• Issuing site user and visitor rules, and recording these where required
• Controlling site users, visitors and contractors through the weighbridge and visitor book
• Reporting breaches of user rules or safety instructions through FCC procedures
• Assisting other site staff with duties relating to site activities
• Completing accurate records of tasks completed and resources used
• Carrying out maintenance and repair work across operational landfill sites when required
• Undertaking any other reasonable tasks required by the company
