**Multi-Skilled Operative****Location: Hampshire Area (Aldershot & Basingstoke)****Salary: £38,703.26 per annum, plus, company van, fuel card, PPE, uniform****Contract: Permanent, Full time****Hours: Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours, 8:00am-5:00pm** We’re on the lookout for a **dedicated** and **experienced Multi-Skilled Operative** to join our team, supporting a busy responsive repairs contract working across the **Hampshire area.** This is a dynamic, hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance across a range of trades, ensuring residents’ homes are safe, functional and well cared for. The role is predominantly based in **Aldershot,** with occasional visits to **Basingstoke.** You’ll be working across occupied and void properties, responding to day-to-day repair requests covering carpentry, plumbing, plastering and general maintenance. You may also be required to travel to other locations within the wider area when needed to support the wider business and team. No two days are the same, and your ability to adapt, problem-solve and deliver excellent customer service will be key to your success. The ideal candidate will work well as part of a team and independently, have a can-do attitude and possess the ability to work under their own initiative. **Duties**:· Carry out day-to-day planned and reactive repairs across occupied and void social housing properties· Replace or repair skirting boards, architraves and internal door frames· Install and adjust kitchen units, worktops and cupboard doors· Install and carry out repairs to bathrooms· Repair or replace internal doors, handles, locks and hinges· Identify and fix minor plumbing issues such as leaks, dripping taps and blocked sinks· Carry out patch plastering and making good, damaged walls or ceilings· Undertake general maintenance and upkeep works as required· Travel to other locations within the wider area when required to support the wider business and team· Ensure all repairs are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard· Work in occupied properties with sensitivity to residents’ needs and privacy· Participate in an out-of-hours emergency repair rota as and when required· Report any further works, safeguarding concerns or property issues beyond scope· Deliver excellent customer service while working in residents’ homes· Accurately record job details, materials used and completion notes using handheld devices or job sheets· Maintain tools, equipment and company vehicle in good working order· Manage daily workload efficiently to meet service level targets **Role Criteria:**· Extensive experience in domestic repairs and maintenance across multiple trades, such as carpentry, plumbing and plastering· Proven background in maintenance, ideally within social housing or a similar environment· Ability to use handheld devices or job management systems to record work· Ownership of your own basic tools· Willingness and ability to travel when required to support the wider business and team· Willingness to participate in an out-of-hours emergency repair rota· Full UK driving licence **Benefits we can offer you**.· 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays· Annual Mears Fun Day - Our annual Fun Day is organised as a massive thank you from the Executive team for all the hard work!· Volunteering Leave - Mears supports employees to undertake paid volunteering in the community, in support of our social value commitment.· Staff perks with Mears Rewards - discounts of up to 10% on weekly groceries, holidays, eye test vouchers, Share Save Scheme, plus much more.· Family friendly policies· Company Van, Fuel Card and Uniform **All our roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK, Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.****To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be aged over 21, have held your licence for over 3 months and have less than 9 points.****Candidates should be aware that all our roles are subject to relevant Background, Identity & Security checks before commencement of employment.**
