Job summary

Auto Skills UK is seeking an Experienced Multi-Skilled MET Technician in Gloucester. You will perform mechanical, electrical and trim repairs on accident-damaged vehicles in a modern bodyshop, Monday to Friday, 08:30–17:00, with no weekends and an earning potential up to £45,000 OTE depending on experience.

Candidates should have strong diagnostic ability, knowledge of suspension, steering and braking, and experience with wheel alignment and manufacturer repair methods.

Qualifications

• Experience as MET Technician in an automotive bodyshop or accident repair centre.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and trim disciplines.
• Experience with complex strip and refit procedures.
• Knowledge of suspension, steering and braking systems.
• Wheel alignment experience and diagnostics capability.
• Familiar with manufacturer repair methods and procedures.
• IMI/ATA qualifications are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical, electrical and trim removal and refitting on accident-damaged vehicles.
• Complete complex strip and refit work using manufacturer repair methods.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and identify correct repairs.
• Carry out repairs and checks involving suspension, steering and braking systems.
• Perform wheel alignment and related checks when required.
• Collaborate with Panel, Paint, Estimators and Workshop Controllers to maintain throughput.
• Ensure repairs meet manufacturer procedures and health & safety standards.
